McHugh goal secures All-Ireland final spot for St Brigid's
A late goal by Conor McHugh helped St Brigid's into their second All-Ireland club SFC final in three years - after the South Roscommon men toppled the mighty Crossmaglen Rangers in Saturday's semi-final at Cusack Park, Mullingar. St Brigid's triumphed on a 2-7 to 1-9 scoreline and will now face Ballymun Kickhams in the All-Ireland Club decider at Croke Park on St Patrick's Day. The Kiltoom/Cam side were beaten by Crossmaglen in the 2011 final, but will be desperate to go one better this time around under the guidance of Kevin McStay. The All-Ireland club football final will be played in Croke Park as part of a double-header with the hurling decider between Kilcormac/Killoughey of Offaly and St Thomas (Galway). *For full report and match reaction to last Saturday's brilliant match, see this week's Westmeath Independent.
