Area mourns popular local business man

Funeral details have been announced for the late Michael Heavin, one of the region's best-known businessmen, who passed away on Wednesday at his home in Nahad, Mount Temple, having bravely battled illness.

Michael ran Michael Heavin Carpets since 1987 and was a popular and much-loved member of the local business community.

He is deeply regretted by his wife Rosaleen, family, Teresa, Louise, Padraig, Sinéad and Felicity, mother Lily, brothers William, Thomas, John, sisters Mary, Agnes, Elizabeth, Marguerite, Josephine, sons-in-law Eoin and Edward, grand-daughters Aoibhin and Orla, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives, loyal staff of Michael Heavin Carpets Athlone, Tullamore Carpets and friends.

The late Michael Heavin will repose at Flynn’s Funeral Home, Moate, this Friday from 3pm. Removal at 6.20pm to Corpus Christi Church, Mount Temple arriving at 7pm. Funeral Mass on Saturday at 11am. Burial afterwards in Donegan Cemetery.
