Bank holiday dumping at Coosan Point

An eagle-eyed reader sent us in this pic of indiscriminate dumping at the scenic area of Coosan Point in Athlone on Bank Holiday Monday.

The problem of indiscriminate dumping in the Athlone area has been getting progressively worse in recent months, with Cllrs on Athlone Municipal District discussing the issue at almost every meeting and looking at the introduction of a number of measures aimed at tackling the people who do not dispose of their rubbish properly.

In an effort to tackle this ever-growing problem, we would welcome pictures from any of our readers who spot other examples of indiscriminate dumping across the county.
