The Westmeath Independent Sports Awards 2012 took place in the Athlone's Hodson Bay Hotel on Friday 8th February. The overall winner of the night was paralympian Mark Rohan, who was awarded Sports Star of the Year. The readers' choice award went to 15-year-old soccer starlet Aaron O'Neill, while another figure from the world of soccer, Pauric Nicholson, was honoured with a Hall of Fame award.
