The Marist team consisting of Edward Fagan, Howard Costello, Ruari Dooley and Robert Reid secured the honours by finishing in first place and maintained the wonderful record of the Marist College in this prestigious event. The team will now go on to compete in the national finals in UCC, Cork on March 7. 'It was a well deserved win,' said teacher Mr Parker after his maths team collected first prize. During the past 13 years of this competition Marist College has won first place on no fewer than seven occasions and were pipped to second place on the other six occasions. A second Marist team made up of John Reidy, Darragh Cunningham, Philip Connor and Gereon Shuamacher came third behind Colaiste Ioságain from Portarlington.
