Show your support for Garrycastle!

With the excitement building ahead of Garrycastle's date with destiny on St Patrick's Day, the Westmeath Independent, with the kind support of Ganly's, has produced a special poster to wish the local club all the best in the All-Ireland club senior football final.

We encourage households, businesses, schools and workplaces to prominently display the poster, which is free with this issue, over the coming ten days as a mark of your support for the club.

Our move comes as a local councillor also called on the wider Athlone community to show their backing for Garrycastle.

Raising the issue at Monday evening's town council meeting, Cllr Paul Hogan congratulated Garrycastle on reaching their first ever All Ireland final.

"Hopefully we can encourage more businesses and residents in the town to erect flags. It's a huge achievement and I think we should all be involved," he said.
