The following is a recording of an exchange between Taoiseach Enda Kenny and protester Gordon Hudson in Athlone today (Monday).

Hudson is head of the Athlone campaign against household charges and water taxes.

Gordon Hudson: Take the bridge, head west and stay there.

Enda Kenny: What's your name?

GH: It doesn't matter.

EK: You could do with a day's work, I'd say.

GH: Oi! Self-employed and had to pack it in because of ye. 29 years self employed. Don't give me your crap.
