200k fund to stimulate new start-up activity in Midlands

A new €200k fund to stimulate start-up activity in the Midlands has been launched by Enterprise Ireland. The Competitive Feasibility Fund is designed to help stimulate jobs and growth in the counties of Westmeath, Offaly, Laois and Longford. This fund, which can provide up to €25,000 per project, is now open for applications from entrepreneurs, and will remain open until Tuesday, November 20. The Competitive Feasibility Fund was launched today (Friday) by Minister for Small Business John Perry. The fund is aimed at supporting entrepreneurs or new start-up companies to explore the feasibility of start-up ideas with job-creating potential to be located in the Midlands Region. It is open to applications from the ICT, Industrial and Food sectors including the following sub-sectors: Internet, Games, SaaS, Cloud Computing, Enterprise Software, Telecoms, Lifesciences, Cleantech, and Industrial Products. Individuals or companies less than 18 months old can apply for grant funding of 50% of eligible spend up to a maximum of €25,000.
