Summerhill students in regional finals of environmental awards

Five groups of transition year students from St Joseph's College, Summerhill have made it to the regional finals of the Eco Unesco Young Environmentalist Awards 2013.

The regional finals are due to take place in Galway today (Thursday), 14th March.

This follows on from the school's huge success last year as overall winners of the competition and also senior waste category winners.

The groups and their teacher, Ms Marie Geraghty, are delighted to have made it to the regional finals this year.

The five projects cover a broad spectrum of environmental actions and awareness raising.

'Foxes go Wild'

'Feed Me'

'Secret Life of Bees'

'The Importance of Growing your own Garden'

'Eagle Aware'

The principal and staff of Summerhill wish the groups every success with their environmental projects.
