Athlone tribute to Nelson Mandela this Tuesday

A tribute to Nelson Mandela takes place in the Prince of Wales Hotel, Athlone this Tuesday, December 17 at 6pm.

The event, organised by Athlone Women’s Forum, Lissywollen Residents Association and Athlone Community Radio, will feature contributions from representatives of the African National Congress (ANC) in Ireland, former Minister Mary O’Rourke and the South African Ambassador in Ireland.

There will also be display of traditional dances and music at the event.

A book of condolence will also be available for anyone who wants to express their sympathy to the people of South Africa on the loss of the much loved former President, Nelson Mandela, who was buried yesterday. All are most welcome to attend.
