Taoiseach to visit Athlone for Jazz Pharmaceuticals event

An Taoiseach, Enda Kenny, will be in Athlone on Monday for an event marking the start of construction on a US pharmaceutical company's new local facility.

The company - Jazz Pharmaceuticals - is planning to develop a new manufacturing and development facility in the Monksland area, which is a growing hub for pharmaceutical firms.

Jazz Pharmaceuticals said it will issue further details of its investment in Athlone, and the associated jobs benefit, on Monday.

Mr Kenny will be joined by Bruce Cozadd, Chairman and CEO of Jazz Pharmaceuticals plc and Barry O’Leary, CEO of IDA Ireland for Monday's event, which will take place at 2pm in the Athlone Springs Hotel.
