Athlone lotto winner picks up his cheque

An Athlone man arrived in National Lottery offices today (Tuesday) to collect a cheque for a whopping €350,000

The man, who wishes to remain private, explained that he got a very special Easter surprise on Easter Sunday when he popped down to the shop to get some bread and milk and found out he’d won €350,000!

“When the shop assistant was packing my bags, I remembered to check my tickets.  I couldn’t believe it when they told me I’d won €350,000.  I was shocked from my head to my toes!!”

The lucky man was in Galway for work on Good Friday and that’s where he bought his ticket for Saturday’s Lotto draws.  He won the top prize in Lotto Plus 1.

“After breakfast, I popped into the little shop next door and got a Quick Pick – I’m glad I did!”  He bought the ticket in Scandinavian Leisure Limited, Unit 12, Westside Shopping Centre, Seamus Quirke Road, Galway.

The delighted winner plans to invest his money in property.
