Gold and bronze medals for Rohan in Italy

Paracycling star Mark Rohan achieved further international success last weekend when he claimed a gold and a bronze medal at the UCI World Cup series in Italy.

The double Paralympic Champion from Ballinahown was competing in his first outing on the world stage this season.

He took the (HC1) time trial gold medal along with a bronze in the road race.

The Irish Paracycling team won a total of five medals in the World Cup event in Castiglione della Pescaia, Italy.

Colin Lynch (C2) won time trial gold medal. Katie George Dunlevy and pilot Eve McCristal (B) took bronze in the time trial and road race.

A statement issued by Minister of State for Sport and Tourism Michael Ring congratulated the team.

“Mark Rohan continues to produce results and we are all so proud of him and the team. I wish them and their coach Neill Delahaye all the best in their preparations for Rio,” said the Minister.
