Athlone Animal Welfare to hold Adoption day at Petworld

After a very successful Adoption Day last year, Athlone Animal Welfare has again partnered with Petworld to introduce the public to the rescue pet adoption process and make it a little easier for people to meet some of the lovely cats the charity has waiting for kind homes.
All cats and kittens are vaccinated, dewormed and defleaed prior to rehoming and neutered if of age. To help contribute toward cost of these treatments and proceudres, AAW asks for a donation of €20 for each cat or kitten adopted. The AAW cattery facility is currently full and AAW is in urgent need of loving homes for some beautiful adult cats whose kittens have already been adopted.
Demand to take in cats and kittens is ongoing as breeding season continues but space is needed before AAW can admit any more cats or kittens. It is hopeful that this meet and greet session will help raise awareness with people on the potential to adopt a rescue pet and on the need to support Trap, Neuter & Release programmes, which help prevent unwanted cats and kittens. An AAW volunteer will be in Petworld between 1pm and 4pm on Saturday, June 28, with Furbi and Nooni, two of AAW’s current residents and will be on hand to advise on the adoption process for the AAW rescue cats.
