Cyclist hospitalised after collision with bus

A cyclist has been hospitalised following a collision with a bus on the Retreat Road, Athlone, this morning.
The incident happened at about 9.30am on Retreat Road, near the turn for St Mel’s Terrace. The man has been brought to the Midlands Regional Hospital in Tullamore and gardai have described his injuries as non-life threatening. Nobody on the bus was injured.
The road was closed for some time following the collision but has since reopened.
Gardai are appealing for information and witnesses are asked to contact Athlone Garda Station on 090 6498550.
