FRIDAY, JANUARY 23

THE FUREYS IN MULLINGAR
Famous folk band The Fureys will be performing in Mullingar Arts Centre this Friday. The group has been entertaining audiences worldwide for the last 36 years. Tickets are €25/22 and can be booked at 044 9347777.

BALLYCUMBER BINGO
Bingo continues in the community centre every Friday night at 8.30pm.

SATURDAY, JANUARY 24

LUAN EXHIBITION
A new exhibition opened in Athlone’s Luan Gallery last Friday so why not stop into the gallery (admission is free) and check it out? Entitled ‘Lonely Planet’, the exhibition features work by a wide range of talented artists. The gallery is open from 11am to 5pm, Tuesday to Saturday, and from noon to 5pm on Sundays. The exhibition is due to remain on display until February 27 next.

SUNDAY, JANUARY 25

MOATE’S BIG GAME
Sunday is a big day for all associated with Moate All Whites, as the club takes on John Mitchels (Liverpool) in the All Ireland Junior Club Championship Semi Final. The game takes place in Navan at 1pm.

WEDDING FAIRS
Hotels in Athlone and Ballinasloe will be hosting wedding fairs this Sunday. The event in Ballinasloe’s Carlton Shearwater will take place from 2pm, while the Hodson Bay Hotel’s Wedding Fair is from 3-6pm.

ELDER PERSONS PARTY
Athlone Community Gardaí will hold their annual Elder Persons event in the Sheraton Hotel, Athlone on Sunday, January 25, from 4pm to 8pm. This is the sixth year for this event. All members of the Elder Community in Athlone and the surrounding area are welcome to attend. There are a number of well known acts performing on the day. Light refreshments will also provided on the day. Tickets are €6 and are available in Athlone Garda Station from the Community Gardaí.

AUTOJUMBLE
