RTE's Ear To The Ground to focus on local farm flooding

Popular rural affairs programme Ear To The Ground will feature the flooding in the Athlone region this Tuesday.

The programme sees presenter Ella McSweeney visit two flood-damaged farms in the Athlone area.

Dairy farmer Padraig Coughlan struggles as almost 90% of his 110 acres are still submerged, and neighbour Francis Nally is under pressure with the fast-approaching calving season.

The programme asks what's next for affected rural dwellers and farmers, now that the flooding is beginning to recede.

Ear To The Ground will be broadcast on Tuesday, January 19, on RTÉ One at 8.30pm
