JOBS: Unique opportunity to work in Silicon Valley

Major opportunity for Irish graduates in Silcon Valley

Athlone’s Conor Fitzgibbon is currently marketing advisor for VFI (Venture for Ireland) which has been set up as a great initiative for graduates to secure employment in Silicon Valley.

Initially set up yet another Athlone native Jack O’ Meara, VFI is a new platform backed by IDA Ireland and Enterprise Ireland which helps springboard graduates to placement/ career opportunities with start up companies in Silicon Valley.

VFI is an all-new two year fellowship that trains and places top Irish graduates into high-growth start-ups and tech companies that have a presence in the US and Ireland.

Through entrepreneurship training and work experience, VFI Fellows develop the skills and experience needed to start and grow businesses in Ireland.

ENTREPRENEUR TRAINING
Fellows receive on-going education from coaches, peers, and experienced entrepreneurs throughout their two-year fellowship. After completing an intensive 4-week training bootcamp, Fellows pursue an entrepreneurship curriculum consisting of workshops, courses, and talks by experienced entrepreneurs on starting and growing successful businesses.

WORK EXPERIENCE
Fellows are matched with a start-up or tech company for a paid 24-month internship to gain the experience of building a rapidly developing venture. They spend the first year in their company’s US office and the second year in the Irish office. We partner with high-growth companies that have managers that can provide Fellows with a wide business experience and help nurture their skill development.

COMMUNITY
Fellows are also provided with on-going support, including help with visa, finding housing, and guidance for international relocation.
