Athlone students win Junk Kouture final

A team from Our Lady's Bower has won the overall prize at the Bank of Ireland Junk Kouture national finals last night.

Jewel of the Nylon was inspired by the 20th century and made by knitting and crocheting old tights.

The students involved were Eleanor Dwyer, Jennifer Siak and Emma Clarke.

The entry was one of six to reach the national final from Our Lady’s Bower. The students were mentored by their talented art teacher Oonagh Kelly.

It's the second time in three years for the overall award to go to the Bower.
