Pollen forecast - the latest from Met Éireann

While most people enjoy the warm weather, it promises increased suffering for those who experience hay fever.

With high temperatures forecast for the rest of this week, the Irish Pharmacy Union (IPU) is urging people who suffer with hay fever to take preventative steps to help minimise their symptoms.

The IPU warned that the summer months of May, June and early July are the peak season for hay fever and that sufferers needed to be on high alert.

Met Eireann Pollen Forecast

According to latest pollen information from Met Eireann, the pollen count across the midlands will be Low today, Moderate on Wednesday, and Low again on Thursday.

However, an increasing risk for grass pollen is expected to start in early June. The potential for moderate grass pollen risk inland and all provinces during the highest temperatures.

The tree pollen season is in decline and most trees have now finished flowering, so the risk will be low.
