New York calling for Kilbeggan best dressed
It’s said that people don’t notice whether its winter or summer when they are happy. This principle applies very much in Ireland as people who attended the Midlands National meeting in Kilbeggan can vouch for, as it rained all evening contrary to weather reports. However a huge crowd (25% increase from the previous year) turned up to prove the point that you can always enjoy Kilbeggan Races.
On Saturday, August 6, at 5.25pm there will be another opportunity to enjoy the featured summer meeting with a Best Dressed Ladies Competition, including a trip to New York for the winner.
The Best Dressed Ladies Competition in August has become a major feature of the summer season of racing with €2,500 worth of clothes from Jacqueline Quinn’s designer collection, €500 worth of Zack Lo designer shoes, and return flights to New York for two people plus three nights accommodation in the Beacon Hotel, which is the jewel Of The Upper West Side in New York.
This fantastic prize will be popular with ladies across the country and it’s anticipated that it will bring many entries from the fashion conscious. Fashion is an instant language without the words and it should be a colourful and beautiful occasion. Judge for the event is RTE’s Maura Derrane.

There will be plenty of entertainment for families at the meeting with Adults €13, OAPs and students €10, Family Package €20 (2 children under 16 accompanied by 2 paying adults are free), and a summer party pack for groups of 10+ includes admission for one, a race card, €5 food voucher, and €5 drink voucher.
