Temperatures reaching 26 degrees in Midlands

IT'S one of the hottest days of the year across the Midlands, with temperatures rising to around 26 degrees Celsius.

But the advice is to bask in the sunshine while it lasts as the weather forecast isn't so good for the next while.

It looks like the weather will take a turn for the worse tomorrow (Wednesday), as thundery rain and localised flooding are on the cards.
Heavy thundery rain is forecast overnight. According to the Midland Weather Channel, tomorrow will be a mixed day with further spells of heavy, possibly thundery rain across the Midlands. Some localised flooding may occur.
Drivers are being advised to drive with extreme care during the torrential downpours. Overall, the weather will be somewhat unsettled over the next seven to 10 days.
According to Met Eireann, rain is forecast in Westmeath tomorrow, Thursday and Friday, with temperatures ranging from 16 degrees to 18 degrees.
Met Eireann says that tomorrow is expected to be cloudy with some heavy outbreaks of rain, persistent at times, particularly across the midlands, with spot flooding forecast.
