Brace yourself - Storm Eleanor is on the way!

Met Eireann have issued a Status Orange wind warning for Munster, Leinster and South Galway, as Storm Eleanor moves in over Ireland off the Atlantic later this afternoon (Tuesday). The storm will very quickly move across the country, with southwest to west winds of mean speeds 65 to 80km/h expected, and gusts of between 110 to 130km/h.

Today's Status Orange wind warning remains in place from 4pm until 9pm and, in conjunction with this, Met Eireann have also put in place a Status Yellow wind warning for the whole of the country which will remain in effect from 4pm today (Tuesday) until 9pm tomorrow (Wednesday).
