Local farmers urged to attend CAP public meeting

The Department of Agriculture has organised a public meeting in Athlone this evening (Tuesday) to discuss the future of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) after 2020.

The meeting, which takes place in the Hodson Bay Hotel at 8pm, is part of a countrywide series of consultations aimed at hearing the concerns and opinions of farmers in each region.

The Minister for State with special responsibility for Food, Forestry and Horticulture, Andrew Doyle, will be in attendance at the Athlone meeting tonight and all those engaged in farming in the Midlands are urged to attend.
