Rossies unchanged for Kerry trip as Kilbride is handed armband

Roscommon have named an unchanged team for Sunday’s Allianz Football League Division 1 clash against Kerry in Killarney.

Ian Kilbride of St Brigid’s has been named as captain for this match - the skipper for last Sunday’s defeat to Monaghan was Niall Daly of Padraig Pearses.

Interestingly, there is again no player from current county champions Clann na nGael on the starting XV, though Cathal Shine and Ultan Harney are among the subs. Clann’s Donie Shine is currently recovering from injury.

At the time of writing, the Kerry team for Sunday had yet to be named but the Munster champions will again be without several key players.

Roscommon lost to Monaghan in agonising fashion in the opening round, while Kerry were well beaten by All-Ireland champions Dublin, so both sides will be anxious to get points on the board on Sunday.

The Kerry v Roscommon game at Fitzgerald Stadium will be televised live on TG4 (throw-in: 2pm).
