Family fun at Willow Park Intercultural Day

Willow Park Football Club was awash with colour, music, barbeque fun and rain last Sunday for the Willow Park Intercultural Day in association with the Maura Frawley and Derek Turley Football tournaments. In between heavy showers and bursts of sunshine, Durty Harry's won the Maura Frawley Tournament with John Molloy's team coming in the runner-up spot. The Tack Room won the Derek Turley Tournament with D'Untouchables in second place. Credit must surely be given to the hardworking newly-formed community group which manned the three bouncy castles, which became make-shift swimming pools after all the rain and those who organised all the activities. All the hard work paid off and a great day was had by all. Community spirit is certainly alive and well in Willow Park and Meadowbrook. The organisers thanked Westmeath County Council, which funded the event.
