Partnership in action at concert

The Moate Partnership Group hosted a very successful concert in the Grand Hotel last Thursday night with a great turnout on the night and a great response to the artists. The Vauxhall Vivas started off the evening with their usual high energy and set the tone for what was a very high standard of entertainment. The contrast between the Vauxhall Vivas, The Lols and Frank Feery from Loaded on the rock side of things and Ray Lynam, Rosie Flanagan and Matt Leavy with their middle of the road/country style ensured that everyone was catered for. Paddy Casey, chairman of the Moate Partnership Group, a totally voluntary group who are making a great effort to promote our town, thanked all the artists who supported the concert on the night. Paddy expressed his thanks to the Grand Hotel who had everything set up in their usual professional manner, to June Carley from Midlands 103 who acted as compere for the night and kept things moving along nicely, Pat Conroy was the sound engineer for all the groups and his input was acknowledged with appreciation. Finally Paddy thanked all those who had sponsored the various raffle prizes and the local and national media who had helped to make the evening such a success. Prize winners in the raffle were Caroline Norris, Hanna Martin, Amanda Scully, Eilish Curtin, Brian Daly, Mary Molloy and Lily Casey.
