Santa due in Moate as Share A Dream house prepares

Santa will arrive in Moate this Saturday, November 28, as the Share A Dream house on the Dublin Road prepares to light up for Christmas to raise much needed funds for the charity which helps makes the dreams of seriously ill children come true. Moate due Helen and Jim Dunne have lit up their house every Christmas for six years now, having raised in the region of €130,000 for the charity. The lights will be turned on at 6.15pm on Saturday for the seventh year and Santa will be arriving on the day with hundreds of children expected to greet him with Christmas carols. And Offaly girl Leah Buckley, from nearby Pullough, who has recorded a CD for the charity, 'Let's Share A Dream', will be there on the day to perform the song. The CD is on sale for €5 and all proceeds are going to Share A Dream. Helen explained that they are still looking for sponsorship for the powering of the lights and also for donations for the goody bags that they provide for children on the day. All donations are welcome and you can contact Helen on 087 6448533 or 090 6482064.
