It was All White on the night!

The county senior Scór semi-final took place in Ballymore on Friday night last and turned into a great night for the Moate All-Whites. We have come to expect great things from the ballad group and this year looks as promising as ever. A very polished performance on Friday last saw the group of Ronnie Minnock, Louise Heavin, Tina Gillivan, Una Walsh and Una McLoughlin progress to the county final with neighbours St Joseph's. In the recitation former all-Ireland winner Peter Dolan was back in top form and progressed to the final with Hugo Slevin from St Joseph's. The same clubs made it through to the Trath na gCeisteanna final with the Moate team of Anita McLoughlin, Kieran Harten and John Walsh finishing runners up to Dick Stokes, Johnny Hannify and Aidan Walsh from St Joseph's who went through without missing a question. In the novelty act the Moate crew of Peter Dolan, Charlie Digan, Larry Gillivan, Louise Heavin, Paddy Broder and Joe Whelan went through to the final along with the team from St Joseph's, thus causing a bit of an upset by eliminating the Castletown Geoghegan team who have such a strong record in this discipline. The county final takes place in the Downs Hall on Saturday next February 12, starting at 7.30pm. Best of luck to all the participants. Your support would be appreciated.
