Midland Amenity Park The Midland Amenity Park Organising Committee wants to thank the entire community for their goodwill and support in making the launch of the Midland Amenity Park, at our Family Fun day, a huge success. Moate Prayer Group Mary McCormack from Moate Prayer Group wishes to thank her many friends in Moate for their get well wishes during her recent illness. The prayer group meets every Tuesday night at 8pm in the Community Centre Church Street Moate where we pray for ourselves, our families, our neighbours and friends etc. All welcome. Cois Na hAbhainn Chairman Welcomes Whiskey Barrel Bins Michael O'Brien Chairman of the Cois na hAbhainn Residents Association has welcomed the addition of the Moate Tidy Towns whiskey barrel bin at Cois Na hAbhainn. The whiskey barrels bins are a great idea and are much welcomed, I'd like to commend Terry Coughlan the brainchild behind the initiative, Moate Tidy Towns and Moate Partnership for their hard work and commitment in rolling out this project. The town is looking great with the introduction of the bins, the numerous flower displays and the continued hard work on behalf of the tidy towns volunteers is really showing, keep up the good work! Numbers drawn were, 2, 6, 15, 23. There was no jackpot winner. Two match three winners, Barney Molloy, Ned Buckley. Sellers prize, Tommy Broder. Jackpot next week is €5,600. Draw will be held in the Grand Hotel. Freshstart Training Programme The Freshstart Training Programme in Athlone has a limited number of vacancies for September. This is a one-year Vocational Programme for the unemployed - with a disability or recovering from illness (including non-nationals). The aim is to help you build confidence, up-skill and reach your potential in the workplace (weekly training allowance). Talk to Martin at 090-6441260. Carmelite Pilgrimage The annual Carmelite Pilgrimage to Lourdes takes place from September 27th to October 2nd. Holy Land eight nights from October 12th, Rome 5 nights from November 7th.
