Fundraising barbecue for Mount Temple

The burgers will be sizzling on Saturday night as Egan's pub in Mount Temple hosts a fundraising barbecue in aid of the local autism unit at Gallen Community School, Ferbane. Valerie Lowry, herself a past pupil of the school, but now living in Walderstown, is the chief organiser of the event, helped by her daughter Niamh, son Conor, and their neighbour Bryan O'Donohoe. It's a cause close to Valerie's heart as her son Oisin has autism. The event coincides with the day of the Walderstown races so organisers are hoping that plenty of the bikers and spectators come along afterwards for a night of entertainment and a good feed! Local people and representatives from nearby parishes and GAA clubs are also being urged to come along and support the event with all proceeds going to the autism unit at Gallen Community School, a most worthy cause. A number of local children attend the unit in Ferbane at present. The action kicks off at 10pm and a great night of entertainment is guaranteed with The Cowboy Roadshow providing the music. Admission is €10.
