Clann na nGael fundraising cycle ready for the off

This Saturday members of Clann Na ngael will be cycling from Croke Park to Johnstown, a total of 134km, in aid of the Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association. The cycle will start at 8.30am and is due to arrive In Johnstown shortly before 6pm. With 80 cyclists signed up to take part it promises to be one of the highlights of the local calendar and raise a substantial amount for a worthy cause. To date €13,000 has been raised with sponsorship cards and €2,900 online and the committee is very confident of reaching its target of €20,000. If you wish to contribute online you can do so by visiting http://www.mycharity.ie/event/clannnagael or you can come to Johnstown the evening before the cycle August 5 from 7-9pm and make a donation. Your support is greatly welcome. For those people wishing to ride on the final few miles of the journey, local families and their kids, the cycling group will make a brief stop at Drum turn between 5.15pm and 5.45pm and they can join the group for the arrival at the club house. From 6pm to 8pm there will be a post cycle party for all involved followed by 'ceol agus craic' for the club's 75th anniversary celebration.
