Local farm goes under hammer with guide price of €3.29 million

One of the biggest farms to come on the market this year is set to go under the hammer this Friday in Mullingar. Clynan Farm, Abbeyshrule, close to Ballymahon, comprises of a total of 345 acres with a guide price of just over €3.29 million, equating to somewhere in the region of €9,000 an acre. Back in 2005 it sold for €4.9 million. An old landed estate, the farm, consists of 268 acres of excellent grazing land with road frontage and 77 acres of forestry, and is bounded by a wooded shelterbelt and the River Inny. It is offered for sale in four separate lots or the entire farm as one lot. It is expected to generate a lot of interest within the agricultural community and act as gauge for the prices fetched in farm sales nationwide. The public auction, handled by Jackie White of selling agents Raymond White Auctioneers in Ballymahon, takes place in the Mullingar Park Hotel this Friday, November 9 at 2.30pm.
