Local ref to officiate at U21 soccer international

Local referee Declan Toland will be among the officials for an international U21 friendly on Monday next.

Toland, a member of the Midlands referees branch, will be an assistant referee for the friendly between Ireland and Portugal in Tallaght Stadium on March 25.

It’s not the first taste of international duty for Toland, as he previously officiated as an assistant referee in an Ireland v England U18 clash two years ago and at U19 level last year.

Declan is currently residing in River Village, Monksland, Athlone.
