Athlone building design firm to give advice at the Grand Designs Live show in London

Prominent Athlone building design firm Murphy and McGerr Architecture will provide expert advice at the Grand Designs Live show at London’s Excel Arena later this week. Director, Mel McGerr will be on hand to offer expert advice to people who have queries about extending, renovating or building a new home.

The firm  was honoured to be asked by the Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists to take part in the show. The expert advice will be offered in 30 minute blocks in what will be undoubtedly a challenging two days. There will be a number of experts on hand from various building professions, however, the invite to be involved was another endorsement of Murphy and McGerr Architectures growing reputation both here and abroad for exceptional building design.

This follows on from two house designs being featured in the popular Selfbuild & Improve Your Home magazine in 2012, as well as a feature article on Building Information modelling in the current magazine issue. Featuring at Grand Designs London will round off what has been an exciting start to 2013 for Murphy and McGerr Architecture who are involved in a number of exciting new projects across Ireland.

The company was started by locals Patrick Murphy and Mel McGerr in 2007 and has grown in stature continuously for the past six years. MMA are expecting a very exciting number of years ahead despite the current economic downturn, which is particularly affecting the construction industry.
