Roscommon races to go ahead as planned

Monday’s meeting at Roscommon goes ahead as planned after the track passed an inspection this morning (first race: 6pm).

While the stalls will not be in use for two events on the card, the fixture will take place on testing ground.

“With it being the first meeting, we hope to get things rolling with a successful meeting. Obviously we can’t control the weather but hopefully our loyal followers will turn out in force,” said the racecourse manager, Michael Finneran.

The general admission is adults, €13 and Students/OAP €8. Roscommon Race Committee have left in place its Special Deal from last year where for €30 people can purchase admission, race card, two-course meal and a €10 betting voucher. Once again, Lydon House, Galway is the caterers at the course. For patrons who wish to remain at the racecourse for a short time after racing, music will be available in the main bar. The card is made up of four flat, two chases and a bumper.
