Information talk for Ballinasloe businesses on making savings by going green

A free information session on the Ballinasloe Green Business Programme will be held on Thursday, June 20 in the Ballinasloe Town Council offices to encourage businesses to go green and save money.


The Ballinasloe Green Business Programme is a free and confidential resource efficiency programme for all types of businesses in the Ballinasloe area including the retail, hospitality, education, health care and manufacturing sectors.

The programme is implemented by Galway County Council and funded by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) under the National Waste Prevention Programme.


The objective is to assist businesses implement resource efficiency and cost savings through on-site waste prevention, water conservation and
energy conservation. Participation in the programme will guarantee various site visits and environmental assessments that will be
carried out in your business by experienced advisors, resulting in a confidential report tailored for your business containing recommendations on resource efficiency in the areas of waste, energy and water.


The event is free but booking is advisable and begins at 6pm with a programme introduction and talk on implentation and potential savings given by Sinéad Ní Mhainnín, Galway Co. Council. At 6.15pm Paula Gallagher from Tipperary Energy Agency will speak on energy awareness in business. Finally at 6.30pm Liam Tolton from SEAI will speak on examples of best practice.
