Europe’s largest car rental company opens in Monksland
Europcar, Europe’s largest car rental company, has opened a new rental office in Monksland, Athlone.
As part of Europcar Ireland, Europcar Athlone will have access to over 4,700 vehicles and will cater for a full range of rental needs.
Located at Motorpark, Monksland just 4km from the heart of Athlone town, Europcar expect the rental business to grow in Westmeath and Roscommon over the coming year.
“With over 20,000 residents, Athlone is the largest town in the midlands and we feel that we will be able to grow our rental business here in tandem with the growth of the town. We provide short and long term hire of cars and vans so customers can book a small car, a BMW or even a Transit van for a period of time that suits their needs and budget,” Business Development Director for Europcar Ireland, Colm Brady commented this week
Athlone is a hub for many tourists and holidaymakers who visit the midlands to cruise along the River Shannon. Our Athlone office will be geared up to cater for the needs of all of these visitors, he added.
Car rental offers local businesses and businesspeople a cost effective alternative to fleet or commercial vehicle ownership. To celebrate the opening of our Athlone branch we are offering all new customers a 10% discount in July. ”
Europcar Athlone will initially employ two people and the local team will be headed up by Paddy Kelly. The branch will be open Monday to Friday from 09.00 to 17.30, and the number to call for all rental queries is 0906 493 999. Customers will also be able to hire vehicles from the Athlone branch through www.europcar.ie.
Europcar will also have a very visible presence at the upcoming TriAthlone event in their capacity as official fleet support partner to Triathlon Ireland.
Europcar has supplied Triathlon Ireland staff with two Skoda Yetis and also supplies transport support for athletes in Triathlon Ireland’s elite programme.
The Athlone branch increases Europcar’s national footprint to 10 locations adding to the existing branches located in Dublin, Cork, Shannon, Kerry, Knock, Navan and Galway.
