Childline looking for Athlone’s loudest chatterbox

To mark the 25 years that Childline has been listening to Ireland’s most vulnerable children, the charity are asking the country’s most recognised and celebrated local people, clubs and groups to become our County Childline Champions and take part in a 25 minute sponsored silence.

25 minutes of a total communication blackout – no speaking, no emailing, no Facebook, no texting, no Twitter!

25 minutes to spend in silence, to consider the five million children in Ireland who have called the Childline service since it began in 1988. 25 minutes to think about the courage it has taken each one of them, to reach out, pick up the phone and ask for help.

25 minutes to think about the 1 in 3 children whose call goes unanswered, because we don’t have the funding to answer their cry for help. 25 minutes to think that it could be a child in your community….

Our fommunity fundraisers are searching the county for Westmeath’s loudest Chatterbox, biggest Facebook addict, or fasted Texter to become Westmeath’s Childline Champion.
