Embrace your cultural side for Culture Night

Embrace your cultural side with something for all the family for Westmeath Culture Night, with events at various venues in Athlone and Moate, some of which begin long before nightfall!
Culture Night is a night of entertainment, discovery and adventure across towns, cities and counties in Ireland. With a host of free events, tours, talks and performances across the county, make sure to take advantage and explore all that’s available on your doorstep.
Here’s a quick look at what’s going on around Athlone and Moate today:

Art Trail
Time: 9am to 10pm
Enjoy a rich display of local creative talent incorporating painting, textile, drawing, crafts and sculpture created by solo artists and collaborative groups
Location: Carmelite Centre, Moate Library, Galvin’s Giftshop, Tuar Árd Arts Centre, Doe’s Pizza, Dun Na Sí Amenity & Heritage Park.

Junk Couture & Visual Art Exhibition
Time: 10am – 7pm
Display by students of Moate Community School and artist Dominique Foley & Lorna Farrell

Photography Exhibition
Time: 10.30am – 1pm & 2.30 – 5pm
An exhibition of ‘Heritage Street Furniture’

Open Day at Dun Na Sí Amenity & Heritage Park
Time: 4.30pm - 6.30pm
Dun na Si Amenity & Heritage Par, Knockdomney, is celebrating its public opening from 4.30-6.30pm. There will be guided tours, attractions and light refreshments. All are welcome.
