Good news on way for Toorvalley residents

A local councillor has signalled that good news may be around the corner for residents of Toorvalley in Moate.

Cllr Kevin ‘Boxer’ Moran highlighted the issue at a recent meeting of Westmeath County Council, calling on the local authority to press ahead and seek funding to finish large areas of the estate and finally take it in charge.

“The council is 99% confident the funding will come from the department,” Cllr Moran told the Westmeath Independent this week, adding that County Manager, Barry Kehoe confirmed to him that they have made an application for funding from the department and could have it by March.

He concluded it’s important for residents who have had to put up with undue hardship that the development is brought up to scratch as soon as possible.
