Watch this new emergency services christmas video

A NEW Christmas greetings video for the Emergency Services has been produced. The video features members of the Gardai, Police, Emergency, Voluntary and Security services in Ireland and the UK.

The two-minute video portrays the courage, commitment and dedication of the front-line Emergency services, the principal Voluntary services and the Armed and Defence Forces who will be available and on-call throughout the Christmas and New Year, as always.

The video captures clips and images representing An Garda Siochana, the Police Service of Northern Ireland, London Metropolitan Police, London Ambulance Service, HSE National Ambulance Service, Carlow County Fire Service, Offaly County Fire Service, Irish Defence Forces, Irish Coast Guard, HM Coast Guard, the RNLI, Civil Defence, Order of Malta, Irish Red Cross, British Red Cross and Search & Rescue Services in their operational capacity.

The video is the first ever all inclusive non-profit promotional advert for the emergency, voluntary and security services. The script was written by Declan Keogh, founder and developer of Emergencytimes.com which in itself is a voluntary on-line magazine and forum for the members of the emergency and voluntary services. The audio was recorded in America and produced in Dublin.

Footage and images throughout the video are touching, and reflect the reality of what the services are faced with every day of their working lives. The fire-fighters piece in particular is striking, as it shows the rescuing of two 11 year old boys from a burning building. The images were staged for the video and feature members of Carlow County Fire Service, John Comerford and Des Hanley. The two boys being ‘rescued’ are cousins David Curren and Brendan Curren, both from Carlow. The photos were taken by Enda Curren and Dermot Scully.
