Utv ireland wants to bring you home for st patricks day

To celebrate St Patrick’s Day, UTV Ireland is calling on all Irish people living abroad to submit their St Patrick’s Day video greetings for the opportunity to win return flights home, to visit their family, friends and loved ones.

 

UTV Ireland’s ‘Bringing U Home’ campaign is offering Irish people around the world the opportunity to broadcast their video-messages to the nation, as submitted videos will feature on UTV Ireland throughout St Patrick’s Day. The best video entry will then be chosen and the lucky winner will receive return flights home from wherever they are, across the globe.

 

Launching Bringing U Home, UTV Ireland weather presenter, Jenny Buckley, said: “St Patrick’s Day has become a massive global celebration of all things Irish. It is a day of national pride and a day to recognise our great heritage and identity with friends and family, both at home and abroad. We all know people who have uprooted and settled in different corners of the world and we want to hear from all of them'.


“Bringing U Home is all about sharing a snapshot of new experiences and reaching out to the ones you love back at home. We want Irish people living abroad to get creative with their video entries – use famous landmarks, introduce us to friends, team members or work colleagues, or show us how much you love and miss Ireland. You never know, we might even see a marriage proposal on national television.”       

 
To enter UTV Ireland’s Bringing U Home, all you have to do is record a 20-second video of yourself sending your special St Patrick’s Day greetings back home to Ireland. Once your video-message is complete and you are happy for the nation to see it, simply go to www.utv.ie/BringingUHome and follow the instructions to upload your video.   

 Mary Curtis, Head of Channel at UTV Ireland, said: “We are delighted to be marking UTV Ireland’s first St Patrick’s Day on air by celebrating Irish people both near and far. There has been significant migration of Irish people abroad, particularly in recent years and flying home to visit family and friends can be a huge expense.'

All suitable videos submitted to Bringing U Home will broadcast on UTV Ireland throughout St Patrick’s Day, as well as being hosted on www.utv.ie. Videos must be uploaded before 11.59pm on March 15 next.
