Writing competition for secondary school students launched by local journalism groups

A writing competition for secondary school students has been launched this week by NewsBrands Ireland and Local Ireland, the representative bodies for Ireland's national and local news publishers.

The competition asks students: 'Tell us how the COVID-19 crisis is affecting you, your family, and the society in which you live.'

There are three categories in the competition: Junior (1st and 2nd year), Intermediate (3rd and 4th year) and Senior (5th and 6th year).

The winning work will be published in local and national media, and there will also be a €200 gift voucher for each winning student.

The deadline for entries is next Wednesday, April 8.
