Public advice after fungal infections reported in swans at Coosan Point

Westmeath County Council is reminding people not to feed stale or mouldy bread to swans.

The warning arises after cases of swans with 'pink feather' have been reported at Coosan Point on Lough Ree.

In a social media post today, the council said: 'This is a result of a fungal infection caused by eating bread. Please do not feed swans stale or mouldy bread."
