Luan Gallery is to showcase local art in its winter fair

Luan Gallery is announcing an open call for an upcoming winter Art Fair, a collection of work by local artists which will display the talent and visual creativity of Westmeath and Midlands-based artists.

Covid-19 has had drastic and ongoing effects on artists and creative practitioners, through financial hardship and the cancellation of exhibitions. In response to this, Luan Gallery would like to offer their support through hosting this Art Fair aimed at alleviating some of the economic strain, and to foster a sense of solidarity within the local and art community.

The fair will offer visitors the opportunity to buy artwork directly from local artists, across various styles and mediums.

Artists are invited to submit between three and five pieces of work for consideration, to be exhibited during the Christmas period from November 28 until January 17.

Formulated as a ‘rotating’ exhibition, one work per artist is exhibited initially and replaced with other works as they are sold.

It is hoped that this will lead to a constantly changing exhibition, with visitors who return to the gallery over the duration of the Fair seeing new work on each visit.
