St Brigid's ladies are preparing to take on Boyle in the Roscommon LGFA Intermediate Championship final in Ballyforan this Saturday at 1pm.

Both St Brigid's and Boyle have enjoyed underage football success over the last few seasons and the reward for their hard work at juvenile level has been the emergence of a number of young stars into their adult squads.

Among the key players on the Brigid's side are Katie Nolan, Abby Curran, Claire Grehan and Hollie Martin, who provides a safe pair of hands in goal.

Sinead Glennon, Katie Harrington, Aishling Feeley and Saoirse Wynne are expected to play influential roles for Boyle in what promises to be a fascinating game of football.

Boyle look to be the form team but they will be wary of a Brigid's outfit which defeated St Ciaran's by a single point in their semi-final.

Although Boyle defeated Brigid's in the group stages, the Kiltoom side was missing a few players on the day and will be hopeful of overturning that result in Saturday's final.

While Boyle appear to be the more consistent side, the ability of Brigid's to pull a rabbit from the hat when least expected makes them dark horses. A tight contest is in prospect.

The ladies intermediate final will be followed by the senior decider between Kilbride and Shannon Gaels at 3.45pm, with Ballyforan the venue for both games.

On Sunday, the St Brigid's men's team will face neighbours Padraig Pearses in the Roscommon SFC final at Dr Hyde Park (throw-in 3pm). And the Kiltoom/Cam fraternity will be hoping that the ladies team will complete the first part of a county title double on Saturday.
