Thomas Egan, "St. Joseph's" , Ashgrove, Cartrontroy, Athlone, peacefully, on Saturday, September 26. Retired Garda Síochána. Predeceased by his beloved sisters Maureen Egan, Teresa Towey and Margaret Dolman and his brothers Paddy and Sean. Sadly missed by his loving wife Evelyn, sons T.J. and Gerard, daughters Maura (Dillon), Anne and Kate, adoring grandchildren, brothers Michael and Jimmy, sister Kathleen, in-laws, nephews, nieces, relatives and many friends.

Seamus McLoughlin, Moate

Seamus McLoughlin; Lake Road, Moate, September 25, peacefully in the tender loving care of the staff of South Westmeath Hospice, surrounded by his loving family. Beloved husband of Anita, loving father of Ciara (Shanley) and Úna (Forde), much adored grandad of Niamh, Caoimhe, Fiachra, Tess and Edith. Sadly missed by his wife and daughters, brothers Andy, Michael (Dublin) and Joe, sisters Maureen Tigani, (USA) and Margaret Sheridan, (Mount Nugent), sons-in-aw Keith and Michael, grandchildren, sisters-in-law Helen and Mary, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

A private funeral mass for family was held on Sunday in St. Patrick’s Church, Moate with burial afterwards in Donegan Cemetery.

Harry Grogan St. Francis Terrace, Athlone

Harry Grogan, St Francis Terrace, Athlone, peacefully on Thursday, September 24, in the tender care of Stella Maris Nursing Home. Predeceased by his wife Ann & son David. Deeply regretted by his daughter Christine, son Alan, son in law Tommie, daughters in law Breda & Ann Marie, grandchildren, sister Marie Gavin, sisters in law, brothers in law, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours & friends.

Sr. Teresa Ryan (L.S.U.) Athlone, Westmeath/Thurles, Tipperary

The death has occurred of Sr. Teresa (La Sainte Union), in the loving care of the staff of Sonas Nursing Home, Athlone (and late of Cummerbeg, Thurles, Co. Tipperary) on Thursday, September 24. Deeply regretted by her La Sainte Union Sisters and by her nieces and nephews, Celine O’Riordan, Maudie Hanly, Jim Hanly, Mai Ryan, Margaret Ryan, Nora O’Reagan, Seamus O’Toole and Maria Ryan, nieces-in-law, nephews-in-law, cousins, relatives and friends.

Funeral Mass took place in St Mary’s Church, Athlone on Saturday, followed by burial afterwards in Our Lady’s Bower Cemetery.

Theresa Smyth (née Cunningham), Ballymore

The death has occurred on Wednesday, September 23, of Theresa Smyth (née Cunningham), Belmore, Ballymore; employee of Westmeath County Council and of Theresa and Sean Smyth Construction; suddenly, at home. Predeceased by her father Milo, brother Michael and sister Mary. Beloved wife to Sean; loving mother to Luke, Ivan and Noah; daughter of Mary; sister to Nancy and Oliver. Theresa will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by her mother-in-law Mary, sister-in-law Mary, nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, cousins, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Funeral took place on Saturday at Church of the Most Holy Redeemer, Ballymore, with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.
