Westmeath and Roscommon groups to receive Covid-19 stability funding
The Moate-based Irish Rural Link and the LARCC Cancer Support Sanctuary in Multyfarnham are among the groups to have been approved for grants in the fourth tranche of the Government's Covid-19 Stability Fund, announced this week.
A total of €4.29 million in funding support is being distributed among 79 non-profit organisations which provide critical services to vulnerable groups in society.
In Westmeath, Irish Rural Link which is based in Moate Business Park, on the Clara Road, is to receive €93,449. The LARCC Cancer Support Sanctuary in Multyfarnham is being given €39,398.
Two groups in Roscommon are also receiving funding. The Melting Pot - a non-profit internet cafe and charity shop in Roscommon town - is to be given €19,395, while Elphin Social Services Ltd will receive €25,303.
Ballinasloe Social Services company, meanwhile, will be given a grant of €25,374.
The funding was announced on Monday by the Minister of State with responsibility for Community Development and Charities, Joe O'Brien TD.
The money is coming from the Dormant Accounts Fund and is designed to support community and voluntary organisations experiencing cash flow issues due to the Covid-19 crisis.
Mullingar-based Minister of State Peter Burke (pictured) said he was delighted that "two well-deserving beneficiaries in rural Westmeath" were among the groups that will receive funding.
