Another day with large number on trolleys in local hospital

There were 22 people being treated on trolleys at the Midlands Regional Hospital Mullingar this morning.

According to the INMO's Trolley Watch survey, the 22 patients are being treated on trolleys in the hospital's Emergency Department.

Nationally, there are 216 people being treated on trolleys this morning, 179 in EDs and 37 on trolleys in wards. The hospital with the highest number of patients on trolleys once again is University Hospital Limerick, where there were 40 on trolleys this morning, followed by Cork University Hospital (36) and then Mullingar. There are 10 patients on trolleys in the ED at Tullamore hospital and three on trolleys in the ED in Portiuncula.

Three of those being treated on trolleys this morning were under the age of 16.
